The Chairman/Publisher of The Guardian Newspapers Limited, Lady Maiden Alex-Ibru will serve as the Chairman of the 11th edition of The Bible Society of Nigeria’s Founder’s Day Annual Lecture which holds on Friday, February 8, 2019.
The Bible Society of Nigeria will use the event, which holds at the Agip Recital Hall, Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos, to honour the President of The Apostolic Church Nigeria, Pastor Dr. Sampson Igwe and Managing Director/CEO of First Registrar & Investment Services Limited, Pastor ‘Bayo Olugbemi with the award of Selfless Service to God and Humanity.
The theme for this year is: “Politics Beyond Ethnicity, Nepotism and Sectionalism: A Duty for the Nigerian Press and the Electorate” and the Guest Speaker is Professor Konyinsola Ajayi, SAN, Managing Partner, Olaniwun Ajayi LP.
Also expected at the event are former Head of State and Patron of The Bible Society of Nigeria, General Dr. Yakubu Gowon; the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwumi Ambode and captains of industries, among other distinguished personalities.
The Bible Society of Nigeria is a not-for-profit interdenominational Christian organization that translates the Bible into local languages, publishes, distributes, raises funds for Bible work and organizes life-transforming programmes. So far, we have the complete Bible in 26 Nigerian Languages, while translation/revision is on-going in 12 Nigerian Languages.
