The Bible Society of Nigeria has the mandate to make the Holy Bible available and affordable to Nigerians in their preferred languages and formats, helping them engage with the word of God through life-transforming programmes. In order to fulfill the latter part of this mandate, certain projects are being carried out by the society. Prominent amongst these projects are:
THE MACEDONIAN CALL
Restoring Hope, Meeting Needs, Transforming Lives
Imagine being forced to flee your home with nothing but the clothes on your back, only to live in overcrowded and dehumanizing conditions in an Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp. This is the painful reality for thousands of Nigerians displaced by conflict, violence, and insecurity.
Through the Macedonian Call Project, the Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) responds to both the physical and spiritual needs of vulnerable families. Since 2018, over 42,000 people in 33 IDP camps have received food, clothing, medical support, free Bibles, and trauma healing at the cost of N306,961,200. These interventions have activated hope, strengthened resilience, and brought emotional and spiritual restoration.
In 2026, BSN will visit IDP camps in Abuja, Edo, and Borno States, and slum communities in Lagos and Imo States, with a target to reach 3,000 households, including adults and children in both settings, at a projected budget of ₦ 139,588,400 ($99,706) for relief, Bibles, education packs, trauma healing, and logistics.

YOU CAN BE THEIR EYES
Inspiring hope and dignity in the lives of the Blind with God’s Word
Aanuoluwapo Ojo testifies, “I may be physically blind, but with the help of the Bible, I have become spiritually sighted, and I have been able to impact the lives of my friends because I share with them, and this helps our spiritual growth.”
This is one of the great testimonies that The Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) is reaping for its donors and partners who support the Braille Bible project for the blind, You Can Be Their Eyes (YCBTE). This project is an intervention from BSN in recognition that individuals with visual disabilities have challenges accessing the Word of God due to the high-cost implication.
Most blind fellows depend on people for food and emotional support, but we work to inspire them with the Word of God to live their lives at its best through YCBTE project. We have distributed 1,767 sets of the Braille Bible at a total cost of ₦72,698,009.00 from 2013 to December 2025. This is besides 74 sets of Bible distributed to 32 libraries of Special Schools Pan-Nigeria at the cost of ₦5,598,000 at a unit cost of ₦77,000 for the Bible in 2011.
We request you to join us on this project let us together build lives and reshape destinies with the Word of God. We have a goal to distribute 200 sets of the Bible at a cost of ₦14m to blind but braille-literate Nigerians in 2027 at ₦70,000 per set.

YOU CAN MAKE GOD SPEAK A LANGUAGE
According to Business Day publication on September 8, 2025, “More than 10 million Nigerian children are out of school, one of the highest figures worldwide, according to UNICEF, and adult literacy hovers around 62 percent”.
The truth remains that these people need to be reached with the Word of God, but the question remains how best? Nelson Mandela aptly said, "If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart." Hence, the need for You Can Make God Speak A Language by The Bible Society of Nigeria.
You Can Make God Speak A Language is Bible translation project aimed at making the Holy Bible available to Nigerians in their preferred languages and formats to reach the unreached and for effective and meaningful Bible engagement. It costs a minimum of ₦150,000,000.00 and 8 years duration to complete a full language Bible translation.
With over 500 languages spoken by over 241 million Nigerians, the task Is enormous. It is to this end that we joyfully request that you partner with us to continually make God heard by majority of Nigerians in their heart languages to help them find meaning to their lives.
Primary School Bible Engagement
The Primary School Bible Engagement (PSBE) is an annual initiative designed to instill godly values and virtues in primary school pupils, while fostering a spirit of healthy competition through the study of the Word of God.
The competition serves as a platform to nurture biblical knowledge, encourage moral development, and promote excellence among young learners. It also provides an opportunity to identify and reward schools whose pupils demonstrate outstanding understanding and application of biblical teachings.
On average, a sum of ₦1,500,000 is required annually to successfully organize and execute this impactful programme.
END TO END: HINTERLAND EVANGELISM
Through the End-to End project, over 6,000 converts have been won for God with over 30 churches planted in the last five years.
Pastor Ayodele, one of the beneficiaries of End-to-End training, declares End-to-End project as a big intervention for the Elemose community in Ondo State, where the people are starved of the Word of God because pastors refuse to stay in the community, leaving eight churches without pastors. According to him, with the skills and tools provided by The Bible Society of Nigeria through End-to-End project, he would now be able to gather people to listen to the word of God.
Through End-to-End project, The Bible Society of Nigeria empowers and equips churches with skills and tools for evangelism to win souls in the hinterlands where access to Bibles is particularly a big challenge due to language barrier. Pastors, evangelists, and related missionaries are trained and provided with projectors and audio Bible device, Proclaimer, in Nigerian languages. With these devices they set up audio Bible listening and gospel film viewing centres for the people in their heart languages. Converts from Jesus’ film and audio Bible listening centres receive free Bibles from BSN in their preferred languages and are integrated into the church.
To successfully execute this project in 2027, the sum of ₦25,683,300 is required and you are invited to partner with God on this Kingdom business. The cost covers the cost of the Bibles for converts, training of coordinators across the country, and impact assessment.
HELPING THE DEAF TO HEAR GOD’S WORD - THE DEAF BIBLE PROJECT
Many years of neglect and exclusion of the Deaf community from access to the Bible are broken. The Deaf in Nigeria now have a Nigerian Sign Language Bible resulting from a partnership between Deaf Opportunity Outreach (DOOR) International and the Bible Society of Nigeria.
Over 8.5 million Nigerians are estimated to be experiencing hearing impairment. Many of them beg to eat but we believe that they should not beg for their Bible because the WORD of God would give meaning to their lives. We have so far translated the Word into 222 Chronological Bible Stories, New Testament books like Matthew, James, Philemon, 1 Corinthians, Philippians, 1st, 2nd and 3rd John, giving Deaf people access to God’s Word in their heart language to help them know God, follow God, and become His disciples.
To completely transform their experience and life with the Wod of God, we have undertaken the long-time and huge financial implication journey of translating the full Bible into Nigerian Sign Language Bible. The Gospel of Matthew is completed, TC-approved, and ready for use. Translation of the Gospels of Mark and Luke, and other New Testament books, is ongoing.

PRISON/TRAUMA HEALING PROJECT
Healing Wounds Behind Bars, Restoring Hope Within
Behind correctional walls are inmates carrying deep emotional wounds from trauma, abuse, violence, addiction, and loss-needs that incarceration alone cannot heal.
The Prison/Trauma Healing Project is a Scripture-based intervention that integrates biblical truth with mental health principles to support emotional, psychological, and spiritual healing among inmates. Through structured trauma healing sessions, participants are guided to process pain, build resilience, and find renewed hope and dignity.
In previous trauma healing engagements, inmates have reported emotional healing, reduced trauma responses, increased resilience, and renewed spiritual hope through these sessions.
In 2027, the project will reach three correctional centres in Lagos State through monthly healing group sessions for about 15 inmates per session, alongside a 5-day trauma healing training for 20 facilitators to strengthen future outreach and expand impact.
The total cost of implementation is ₦ 9,750,000, covering facilitator training, materials, logistics, and facilitation for 36 healing group sessions.
Your support will help to bring structured healing, restoration, and hope to people behind the prison bars, transforming their lives from the inside out.
DEAF BIBLE QUIZ (DBQ)
Hearing God’s Word Beyond Sound
The Deaf Bible Quiz (DBQ) is an annual Bible engagement programme designed to help Deaf youths in Lagos State engage deeply with Scripture using Nigerian Sign Language. It provides an inclusive platform where God’s Word is made accessible, meaningful, and spiritually transformative for learners with hearing impairment.
Since its inception, an estimated 5.6 million naira has been spent to reach 742 Deaf students over five years (an average of 106 participants annually) across special schools in Lagos State. Through structured Bible quiz sessions, participants have grown in biblical knowledge, strengthened their spiritual understanding, and embraced Christian values that have positively shaped their personal conduct and social interactions. The programme has also advanced inclusion by affirming the dignity, confidence, and spiritual identity of Deaf learners within the Christian faith community.
The goal of DBQ is to expand participation and deepen Scripture engagement among Deaf students through consistent, structured, and accessible Bible learning experiences.
The 2026 edition requires ₦4,021,200 ($2,872) for logistics, feeding, transportation, materials, and coordination of Deaf quiz facilitators.

Seeing God’s Word Through Their Hands, Hearing It in Their Hearts
Picture a room filled with young learners with visual impairment, voices alive with confidence, joy, and anticipation as they engage deeply with Scripture-not through sight, but through touch, memory, and understanding.
The You Can Be Their Eyes Bible Quiz is an annual initiative of The Bible Society of Nigeria for visually impaired students in Lagos State, designed to promote Bible engagement through Braille and foster inclusion, confidence, and spiritual growth. Over the past seven years, an estimated 8.1 million naira has been spent in reaching 738 visually impaired students to strengthen their Bible knowledge and encouraging personal engagement with Scripture and biblical values. In 2026, we plan to engage 150 students from 10 schools at a projected cost of ₦4,730,500 ($3379), covering logistics, transportation, feeding, materials, and coordination.
