OUR PROJECTS YOU CAN IDENTIFY WITH

The Bible Society of Nigeria has the mandate to make the Holy Bible available and affordable to Nigerians in their preferred languages and formats, helping them engage with the word of God through life-transforming programmes. In order to fulfill the latter part of this mandate, certain projects are being carried out by the society. Prominent amongst these projects are:

YOU CAN BE THEIR EYES

This project is targeted at providing Free Braille Bibles for the People with Visual Disability (the blind). Currently it costs N70,000.00 per complete set.

YOU CAN MAKE GOD SPEAK A LANGUAGE

This project is aimed at making the Word of God available in local Nigerian Languages. Presently it costs a minimum of N150,000,000 per project if completed in 8 years.

PRISON PROJECT

The idea behind this project is to provide free Bibles to people behind the bars across the nation. People donate to ensure this happens. You can join us in this crusade to make the Word of God available to Prisoners. To give an average of 100 copies of the Bible to the prisons pan Nigeria per annum will cost us about N12 million.

NATIONAL NYSC ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION/SYMPOSIUM

The programme is aimed at ensuring that the Youth corps members contribute meaningfully to National Development. The BSN started this in 2012 and it has been a great occasion. We need your generous donation/sponsorship to buy the gift items and other things relating to the event. It costs an average of N1.2m to host the event.

Primary School Bible Competition

The Primary School Bible Competition (PSBC) is an annual initiative designed to instill godly values and virtues in primary school pupils, while fostering a spirit of healthy competition through the study of the Word of God.

The competition serves as a platform to nurture biblical knowledge, encourage moral development, and promote excellence among young learners. It also provides an opportunity to identify and reward schools whose pupils demonstrate outstanding understanding and application of biblical teachings.

On average, a sum of ₦1,500,000 is required annually to successfully organize and execute this impactful programme.

The Bible in Nigerian Sign Language: A more relevant and impactful reach-out to Deaf

The Nigerian Sign Language is among the over 400 sign languages of the world without a full Bible. The full Bible has not only been translated into spoken languages alone, it has also been transmitted in audio format and even made available for the blind in Nigeria. But nothing has been done to take God’s Word to the deaf in their heart language – Sign Language. Consequently, the Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) heard the cry of the Deaf for the Word of God in their heart language and has assumed the responsibility of translating the Bible into Sign Language.
