BIBLE TRANSLATION PARTNERSHIP

BSN Bible Translation Project

Imagine how many people would have been lost if the words of the Bible had remained as above. Chances that the Bible would reach us are very slim. However, God used some people to translate it into languages we understand.

Let us also allow God to use us to further translate the Bible into languages other people can understand. Remember, not everyone understands English.

The Lord gave the WORD: great was the company of those that published it”— Psalm 68:11

The Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) has been at the forefront of translating the holy Bible into Nigerian indigenous languages for over five decades. Currently, we have the full Bible in 27 languages out of the over 500 languages in Nigeria, while translation or revision work is ongoing in Epie, Ogbia, Isoko, Urhobo, Edo, Eggon, and Yungur, among others.

These ongoing projects are at different stages of completion, with many more awaiting considerations for translation. It costs over 120m to complete a language Bible translation if achieved in eight years.

Using the King James Version (KJV) as a sample, we have 66 books, 1,189 chapters, 31,102 verses, and 783,137 words in the Holy Bible. You can support Bible translation by donating to translate a word, a verse, a chapter, a book, the New Testament, or the Old Testament. This will cost you a minimum of ₦200.
