Going through the pages of scriptures, one will discover that there is truly nothing new under the sun (Ecclesiastes 1:9). The world has witnessed different kinds of war, famine, economic hardship, etc. Contemporary histories are also dotted with various unpleasant experiences at one time or another. In most cases, according to the Holy Bible, these unpleasant experiences are caused by humans’ deviation from the path of God. The case of the children of Israel in the Bible says it all. Whenever human beings want to prove to be wiser than God and try to go their way, it always ends in disaster and calamities. Yet, man has failed to learn from experience, and we have kept making the same mistakes repeatedly going against the laws of God and trying to fulfil what the Bible says in Job 21:22a – “Can anyone teach knowledge to God?”…Sower (January- March 2019)
