Roadmap in Action: BSN Champions UBS Vision with Epie Bible Completion

In alignment with the Bible Translation Roadmap, a bold and practical 20-year vision of the United Bible Societies (UBS) to make the Bible available to everyone who desires it in a language they understand best, The Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) is pleased to announce the completion of the Epie Bible translation project, a major milestone in the journey toward Bible access for all.

The Epie Bible, now completed after ten years of rigorous translation work, is a vital addition to the growing body of Scripture translations available in Nigeria’s diverse linguistic landscape. The Epie language community, located primarily in Bayelsa State, can now access the full Bible in their heart language, bringing God’s Word home in a deeply personal way.

This aligns perfectly with the UBS Translation Roadmap, which emphasises collaboration, long-term planning, and innovation to accelerate the pace of Bible translation globally.

BSN’s Commitment to Vision
BSN’s contribution to this global achievement through the Epie Bible underscores its unwavering commitment to reaching the unreached with the life-transforming message of the Scriptures. The completion of this project is not just a local triumph, it is a global step forward in the collective effort to eliminate Bible poverty.

As a member of the UBS Fellowship, BSN remains fully engaged in the Roadmap’s implementation, trusting God for greater impact in the years ahead. With a large percentage of the world’s languages still lacking any portion of Scripture, the journey continues, but with each completed translation, we are one step closer to the goal.

Let us continue to labour together, so that every person, in every community, may one day hold the Bible in their own language and hear God speak to them in the voice they know best.

“The explanation of your teachings gives light and brings wisdom to the ignorant.” — Psalm 119:130 (GNB)
