Marathon Bible Reading (MBR) 2024: A Triumph of Faith and Dedication in Kaduna and Borno/Yobe Areas

The 2024 edition of the Marathon Bible Reading (MBR), held from August 26 to 30, 2024, was nothing short of remarkable, with many participants across Nigeria immersing themselves in the Word of God. This year, the event took on special significance in two centres: one in Kaduna Area and the other in the Borno/Yobe Area, where the Bible was read in its entirety within the programme days. These centres stood out not just for their commitment to completing the reading but for their unwavering faith and dedication amid unique challenges.

A Marvel in Borno/Yobe: Reading the Whole Bible in One Day
The Borno/Yobe Area reading centre achieved an extraordinary feat by reading the entire Bible in a single day—on the first day of the event, August 26, 2024. This remarkable accomplishment was a testament to the participants’ determination and deep spiritual commitment. Despite the region’s challenges, including security concerns and logistical difficulties, the participants demonstrated an unyielding resolve to engage with the Word of God.

The sense of unity and shared purpose was palpable as each reader took turns, knowing they were part of something far greater than themselves. Their efforts were not just about completing a task but about making a bold statement of faith, echoing the MBR’s theme, “Believe and Be Saved” (Acts 16:31).

Kaduna’s Perseverance: Completing the Bible Reading on Day Four
Similarly inspiring was the Kaduna centre, where participants completed the reading of the entire Bible on the fourth day of the event, August 29, 2024. Their journey was marked by perseverance and a deep hunger for God’s Word. From the first chapter of Genesis to the last verse of Revelation, readers immersed themselves in the Scriptures, undeterred by the long hours and the weight of the task ahead.

Their achievement was a celebration of community, faith, and the power of Scripture to unite and transform lives.

Appreciation for the Borno/Yobe and Kaduna Areas
The success of the MBR in Borno/Yobe and Kaduna Areas would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of the organising teams, church leaders, and volunteers who worked behind the scenes. Their commitment to fostering Bible engagement and spiritual growth in their communities is truly commendable. Special appreciation goes to the participants who gave their time, energy, and voices to this great cause. Their dedication serves as an inspiration and a reminder of the power of God’s Word to transcend all barriers.

We express our deepest gratitude to the Borno/Yobe and Kaduna Areas for their remarkable participation and unwavering faith. Your commitment to the Marathon Bible Reading initiative has set a high standard and inspired countless others to deepen their engagement with the Scriptures.

Conclusion
The 2024 Marathon Bible Reading was more than just an event; it was a vibrant celebration of God’s Word, a testament to the unity of the Christian community, and a powerful act of evangelism. The incredible achievements in Borno/Yobe and Kaduna Areas stand as a beacon of what is possible when believers come together with a shared purpose. As we reflect on this year’s event, we are reminded of the enduring power of the Scripture and the unbreakable bond it creates among those who believe.
