As the indisputable bastion of The Bible in Nigeria, the Bible Society of Nigeria marked the annual Bible Week Celebration with an array of exciting activities nationwide to celebrate the best gift of God to mankind. The theme of this year’s celebration was tagged “Jesus, our Burden Bearer.” The event which held between May 9 – May 15, 2022 was very impactful, as the message of the efficacy of the gospel was echoed in every nook and cranny of the nation. Over one million copies of the GNT New Testament Bible were distributed free of charge to various communities in Nigeria, courtesy of the United Bible Societies. While advocating for a Bible-oriented society, General Secretary Samuel Sanusi stated that “our socio-economic and security challenges as a nation will be greatly reduced if people adopt and live by prescribed biblical principles in all human relations.”
