The Bible Society of Nigeria

A Strategic Milestone: BSN’s New Office Dedication

After a long-awaited period, staff at the head office successfully relocated to the renovated Bible House located at 202/204, Ikorodu Road, Palmgrove, Lagos. The atmosphere on Monday, April 13, 2026, was filled with joy, gratitude, and a deep sense of fulfillment as the first phase of the building was formally dedicated to God.

The dedication ceremony was officiated by Dr. Dare Ajiboye and Dr. Fred Odutola, both former General Secretaries of The Bible Society of Nigeria, whose presence added significance to the occasion. Prayers were fervently offered for the building, the staff, and all operations that would be carried out within its walls.

Mr. Yemi Olayiwola, in his remarks, gave a brief but insightful history of the journey to the new Bible House. He recalled that, due to the severe traffic challenges at Apapa, the former General Secretary, Dr. Dare Ajiboye, relocated the office in 2018 to a rented facility at Adebowale House, 150, Ikorodu Road, Onipanu, with the initial plan of returning to Apapa. However, in 2019, while still at the rented location, Dr. Ajiboye conceived the visionary WABFOG project, a faith-driven initiative designed to raise funds for acquiring a permanent site. Through this project, well-meaning individuals, churches and organisations sponsored the handwriting of portions of Scripture, be it a verse, chapter, or book, for a token.

Although the project faced challenges and did not progress exactly as planned, it became evident that God had a greater purpose. The search for a suitable property along Ikorodu Road proved difficult, involving numerous setbacks and uncertainties. Yet, the Society remained steadfast in faith, trusting that God had prepared a special place. By His grace, that divine provision eventually manifested in the acquisition and renovation of the present property.

Delivering the sermon at the dedication, Dr. Dare Ajiboye preached from 2 Chronicles 5:1–14, with the theme “Cloud of Glory.” He emphasised that the cloud of glory symbolises the tangible presence of God, and where God’s presence abides, impossibilities are turned into possibilities, and every imperfection is made perfect.

He further outlined key conditions for sustaining the manifestation of the glory of God:

  • Building according to divine specification—doing things as God instructs
  • Living a life of holiness
  • Offering heartfelt adoration and praise, which invite God’s presence
  • Surrendering completely to the divine will

The dedication concluded with heartfelt prayers, committing the building to God and asking for His abiding presence to dwell continually within it.

The management and entire staff of The Bible Society of Nigeria were filled with immense joy, gratitude, and renewed hope. The occasion was not just a celebration of a physical structure but a testimony of God’s faithfulness, provision, and perfect timing.

The General Secretary, Pastor Samuel Sanusi, in his remarks, expressed profound gratitude to God for His divine providence and for making the day a reality. He noted that while the newly renovated Bible House marks a significant milestone, it represents only the first phase of a greater vision, as the main building is yet to be constructed.

He expressed strong faith that, by the grace of God, the required funds and resources for erecting the main building on the space reserved for it would soon be made available. Pastor Sanusi, therefore, called on individuals, churches, corporate organisations, and all well-meaning partners to support the project to bring the full vision of the Bible House to completion and further strengthen the mission of making the Word of God accessible to all.
