As part of its inclusivity mandate and continuous efforts to promote engagement with the Word of God among all people, The Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) held the 7^th edition of the You Can Be Their Eyes (YCBTE) Bible Quiz on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at The Salvation Army, Shipeolu, Somolu, Lagos State.

The annual competition was designed to encourage the reading of the Braille Bible and enhance biblical knowledge among students with visual impairment.

 Participating Schools

1. King’s College (Junior), Obalende, Lagos
2. Federal Government College, (Junior), Ijanikin
3. Federal Government College, (Senior), Ijanikin
4. Pacelli School for the Blind, Surulere
5. Bethesda Home for the Blind, Mushin

 Competition Rounds

The competition featured three exciting rounds:

• Round One: Focus on the Book of Joshua
• Round Two: Questions from the Acts of the Apostles
• Round Three: The engaging “Draw Your Sword” challenge

 Awards and Prizes

At the end of the competition, prizes were presented to the top performing schools and participants. School bags, white canes, and cash prizes were distributed as follows:

• 🥇 1st Position: ₦50,000 cash, 2 school bags and 2 white canes— Federal Government College, (Senior), Ijanikin – represented by Oghorodi Gideon & Ajayi Ebenezer
• 🥈 2nd Position: ₦35,000 cash, 2 school bags and 2 white canes — Bethesda Home for the Blind, Mushin – represented by Adegbola Praise & Sorochi Goodluck
• 🥉 3rd Position: ₦25,000 cash, 2 school bags and 2 white canes — King’s College (Junior), Obalende – represented by Adebayo Boluwatife & Ogooluwa Ibukun
• 4th Position: 2 school bags and 2 white canes – Pacelli School for the Blind, Surulere – represented by   Sanusi Mayorkun & Eze Prosper
• 5th Position: 2 school bags and 2 white canes – Federal Government College, Ijanikin (Junior) – represented by Oghorodi Gideon & Ehikhoya Precious

The YCBTE Bible Quiz continues to serve as a platform for The Bible Society of Nigeria to champion inclusivity, literacy, and spiritual growth, ensuring that everyone—regardless of ability—can access and engage with the transforming power of the Scriptures.

Participants and other students were admonished to engage regular with the Scriptures, as this builds spiritual depth and strengthens personal faith, aligning with the core mission of The Bible Society of Nigeria: to make the Word of God available and accessible to all people, regardless of physical limitations.

 Conclusion

The 2025 You Can Be Their Eyes (YCBTE) Bible Quiz once again underscored the Bible Society of Nigeria’s unwavering commitment to inclusivity, literacy, and spiritual growth. Through this initiative, the Society continues to ensure that everyone, including persons with visual impairment, can read, understand, and be transformed by the life-changing message of the Holy Scriptures.
