Psalm 133:1 — “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!”

South Africa, located at the southern tip of the African continent, is home to about 60–62 million people representing a rich diversity of cultures, languages, and histories. The nation’s dominant religion is Christianity, expressed through Protestant, Pentecostal, Charismatic, and Roman Catholic traditions, alongside other faith communities. Known for its journey of reconciliation after apartheid, South Africa continues to navigate social and economic challenges while carrying a deep spiritual heritage shaped by prayer, worship, and vibrant church life.

Psalm 133 speaks powerfully into the nation’s story — a reminder that unity among God’s people releases blessing and healing. In a land marked by both struggle and hope, the Church is uniquely positioned to model reconciliation, compassion, and the transforming love of Christ.

Prayer Focus:

• Pray for those involved in crime and violence to have life-changing encounters with the living God, bringing restoration, repentance, and new purpose.
• Ask the Lord to strengthen churches and Christian agencies as they minister to both the physical and spiritual needs of communities, offering hope where there is poverty and brokenness.
• Pray for deep Gospel reconciliation across every race and culture, that unity in Christ would overcome division and reflect God’s heart for a healed and restored South Africa.
