The Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) has made ambitious plans with a budget of \u20a6943,020,600 for 2026, dedicated to Bible translations and organising impactful programmes that engage people with the Word of God to transform lives across the country.<\/p>

This represents a significant increase of 97 percent from the \u20a6479,722,500 spent in 2024, underscoring the organisation\u2019s commitment to making Scriptures accessible to all Nigerians, and helping people engage with the Bible.<\/p>

Out of the projected expenditure, the sum of \u20a6288,386,300 will be spent on ten ongoing translation projects, which are at various stages of completion. One of these projects is the Nigerian Sign Language Bible for the deaf community in Nigeria, which is expected to gulp \u20a662m. Except for the Sign Language Bible translation which costs over four times the regular Bible translation, it costs a minimum of \u20a6150m to complete any other Bible translation project if achieved within eight years.<\/p>

Furthermore, BSN plans to spend the sum \u20a6306,392,700 to execute one of its intervention programmes, The Macedonian Call, which focuses on distributing Bibles and relief materials, including foodstuffs, gently used clothes, beddings, and back to school packs in Internally Displaced People\u2019s Camps and slum areas across the country.<\/p>

So far, in the first quarter of this year alone, the organisation has spent \u20a6148,315,500 in its ongoing mission to make the Bible available to Nigerians in their preferred languages and formats, and on organising programmes that engage people with the Scriptures.<\/p>

The General Secretary\/Chief Executive Officer of the organisation, Pastor Samuel Sanusi, says that BSN\u2019s commitment to its mission of making the Word of God available to everyone is the driving force behind its passion, despite the harsh economic realities.<\/p>

According to Pastor Sanusi, \u201cOur resilience, accountability, and the fulfilment of our mission and vision statements, as well as the need to be more socially responsible as a corporate citizen, are our driving forces. Government is doing its bit, and we must do ours in fulfilment of our obligation to the people of God that we serve in line with the Great Commission.\u201d<\/p>
